Uses For Coffee Grounds
Enjoying the pleasures of coffee means having coffee grounds left over. What can you do with them? Well, you can use the leftover coffee grounds as fertilizer in your gardens or plant pots.
The coffee grounds are a great source of nitrogen, magnesium, and calcium, all beneficial for your garden. Using coffee grounds is also cheaper than buying store bought fertilizers and just as effective. I sprinkle the coffee grounds on top of the soil and add water. The nitrogen in the grounds gets slowly released into the soil for plant nourishment. Adding coffee grounds in a pile around the plants is a bad idea. The grounds can harden and prevent water from reaching the plant roots.
I also use coffee grounds to start seeds in. I’ve had a pretty successful germination rate so far.
